Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) is a non-governmental organization that provides Development Communication services aimed at influencing positive behavior change for the social development of men, women and children in Uganda and the entire East African Region. CDFU is a partnerin the Nuwoka program led by Catholic Relief Services. The Nuwoka program will build resilience to shocks, enhance livelihoods and improve food security and nutrition for vulnerable rural families in three districts of Karamoja – Abim, Nakapiripirit and Napak. CDFU wishes to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans for the following posts: Project Coordinator and Project Officers

 

A). Position: Project Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director -CDFU

Commitment: Full time

Location/ Duty station: Karamoja

 

Job Summary: The individual will provide SBCC support to program activities including work plans, accounting and reporting; providing technical assistance to district based partners and capacity building in SBCC at national and district levels.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Communication, Health, Social Sciences, Population or related field. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing Social & Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) interventions. Demonstrate knowledgeable practice of working with districts, non-governmental and community based organizations as well as government departments. Must have experience working at the community level to implement SBCC interventions. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and ability to work as a team player. Good presentation and writing skills. Computer skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.  

 

B) Position: Project Officers (SBCC) - Community Mobilization (3 positions)

Reports to:  Project SBCC Coordinator

Commitment: Full time

Location/ Duty stations:  Districts in Karamoja

 

Job Summary: To provide SBCC support to program activities including community mobilisation, mentoring and monitoring of all stakeholders at all levels down to the household level, coordinating and reporting of all BCC activities of the project.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Communication, Health, Social Sciences, Population or related field. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in implementing Social & Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) interventions. Demonstrate knowledgeable practice of working with districts, non-governmental and community based organizations as well as government departments. Must have experience working at the community level to implement SBCC interventions. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as a team player. Demonstrate good interpersonal communication. Good presentation and writing skills. Computer skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

(Note: Knowledge of one of the local languages spoken in the project districts will be an added advantage.).
